Undersized Ducts – When your ducts are too small, your HVAC system will be forced to work harder in order to pump the hot or cold air throughout your vents. Some possible damages due to undersized ducts include wear and tear on the equipment such as motor or compressor failure, increased repair issues, a shorter lifespan of the equipment, and increased utility costs.

Oversized Ducts – When your ducts are too large, the air is not sufficiently pushed through the vents and results in inconsistent temperatures (such as hot and cold spots), poor ventilation and stuffy air.
